Properties of EN16 Carbon Steel
EN16 is usually supplied as EN16T in accordance with BS970. It is a low alloy high tensile steel. EN16T is supplied with a tensile range of 850 to 1000 n/mm2 depending on the ruling section. EN16 has a good resistance to shock with excellent ductility. EN16 offers relief from temper brittleness.
EN16 (605M36): A manganese molybdenum steel that has excellent ductility and good machinability. It has a high tensile strength as well an ability to withstand shock loading. It finds many uses in engineering applications such as shafts, pins and bolts.
